Ingot
Ignot is a sandwich panel with integrated acoustic absorption and thermal insulation properties. The three layers of the panel’s skin are connected through thick threads sewed by an industrial 6-axis robotic arm. The interlocking multi-layered surface of the outer skin is made of natural fibre reinforced thermoplastic elastic polymer, where the intermediate remaining gaps allowed the air to be activated as a trapped resonant cavity that caused the sound waves to be successfully absorbed. The core is made of foamed bioplastic with thermal insulation properties. The whole sandwich panel can be recycled or composted.
