CONCEPT
BioMat GmbH and BioMat TGU (Transfer- und Gründerunternehmung)@TTI GmbH were founded by Prof. Dr.-Ing Hanaa Dahy in 2024 & 2022 respectively, based on the concept of BioMat@Stuttgart (2016) at the University of Stuttgart and BioMat@Copenhagen (2022) at the Aalborg University.
Our goal at BioMat is to explore innovative solutions for future sustainable Architecture. The design philosophy of BioMat sees material properties as a design tool, merging the fields of Material Research, Architectural Design, and Digital Fabrication to create feasible sustainable applications for the built environment.

Biomaterials and digital technologies for the building construction: a vision for the Future!
The lecture highlights an innovative trend in sustainable architecture, in which architectural design is derived from annually renewable resources and digital manufacturing using bio-based materials. The discussion takes a place at Stuttgart VHS (Volkshochschule) on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

On the 18th of November Prof. Dahy gave a lecture at a prestige workshop on “Timber Construction/Bioeconomy” organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen: DGNB eV.
ZKM lecture
The ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medien (Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe), which is a renowned well-known culture and arts center in Germany had held the Karlsruher Forum 2020 on Wednesday the 14th of October 2020 with the topic of “New materials for a new world for our future” (Bioal¬che¬mie – unsere Zukunft? Neue Materia¬lien für eine neue Welt) . Prof. Hanaa Dahy has held an introductory lecture in this event with the title: Gold Straw replaces Plastic!
