The BioMat research group (Bio-based Materials and Materials Cycles in Architecture), located at the ITKE (Institute for Building Structures and Structural Design) is now hiring!
A research associate position (75% E13 TVL) is open.

Expected start: 01. October 2017 or upon agreement.
The candidate should be holding an engineering degree (architecture, civil or mechanical engineering) qualified to be able to conduct teaching at a university level to bachelor and master architecture students in the field of emerging building materials, smart and multi-functional building systems and digital fabrication technologies. The applicant will be involved in current research projects in the field of biomimetics, smart materials, material developments and digital fabrication. Her/His work should include teaching, research work and building prototypes/mock-ups. Achieving a PHD degree is highly supported. Fluent German language skills are recommended. High level of commitment is expected.
BioMat Intro:
BioMat is a newly established research group in ITKE since 2016. The aim of the BioMat department is to combine design, sustainable material development, form-finding, fabrication, biomimetics and intelligent systems in architecture. Teaching, research, form generation, material development and production as well as industrial projects are highly networked. BioMat offers architecture students and industry partners the opportunity to participate in current research projects within the framework of sustainable and intelligent building systems.
