This is an integrated acoustic absorption and thermal insulation sandwich panel. The perforated layers on the outer surface are composed of natural fibre biocomposites and the inner core is made of foamed bioplastics. Density of the inner core varies between 45 kg/m³, (free expansion) – 50-130 kg/m³ (pent-up plate), to be suitable for thermal insulation applications, including sanitation. Both surface and core panels are produced using plastic extrusion processing techniques. Biofoam plates are foamed while being extruded through physical foaming processing, which is a more environmental friendly process than the classic chemical foaming processes. The whole panel can be recycled or composted under industrial compost conditions.
