The Hybrid Stool
The goal was to explore the potential benefit of combining timber and carbon fibers into an highly performative artefact. The task was approached both from a design perspective as well as from a more engineering point of view. During this process, students went through different stages of experiment and refinement. Their work mostly concentrated on developing a new approach for the legs of the stool while the seating was kept more conventional as a simple wooden element. The output is a fully functional stool showcasing a novel approach of combining two materials into a striking slender structure.
